The Player Development Center is a state-of-the-art, 20,000 square foot facility designed to ensure that Texas A&M’s strength and conditioning facilities are among the nation’s best. The 12th Man Foundation is undertaking an aggressive $9 million fundraising campaign to build the Player Development Center with the goal of having the facility open by the end of 2012.

The Player Development Center represents the top priority and the first phase of the Campaign for Aggie Football. This facility will be much more than just a weight room. The Player Development Center will have areas devoted to strength and power, bursts and explosions, and specific skills such as eye-hand coordination, reaction time and interactive movements that are very position-specific. According to A&M coach Mike Sherman: “It would be a facility unlike any other in the country, with state-of-the-art equipment.”

The new Player Development Center is so important to Coach Sherman that he started the fundraising efforts with a major capital gift. “By donating to this facility, I want Aggies to be aware of how important it is to me as the head coach of their university,” Sherman said. “I think this is so important to the immediate and long-term success of Texas A&M that I have decided to donate my own funds to the project. Everything that we are building right now is for the long-term benefit of Texas A&M.”
